The idea for Tales and Tails UK came to me one day while I was laying in bed in my old council flat! I created it as a hobby and a way to showcase my creative flair. My interest in cocktails started during university while completing my criminology degree.
I worked part-time at a bar called the Church Street Tavern in Colchester and we would make cocktails all night. My fondest memory working there was a challenge in which all the bar staff had to create a cocktail and the best one would be added to the menu.
Now looking back I think my drink was the probably not the most complex, but nonetheless it sparked my creativity in recipe development! I would also go home and replicate the drinks I made at work and i was always creating new punch recipes for all my parties.
After receiving so many compliments, it was clear that I had a talent for mixing flavours and there, the idea for Tales and Tails UK was born!

Cocktail making is truly one of my love languages! Every step is special to me, from developing the recipe all the way to garnishing. This is where I can get crazy and creative with it and try out things that I've been inspired by either in my head or by what I see online.
Nothing beats the reward of envisioning a cocktail in my head and then bringing it to life and as you can tell from the brand identity, bright colours and juicy aesthetics is our signiture look!

Over time my palate has matured, I used to like very sweet drinks.
Now, i’m a Margarita babe through and through!
I still love a hint of sweetness in my drinks as long as it’s not over powering.
A spicy margarita wins me over every time.

The worst cocktail I've tried is the espresso martini (an unpopular opinion, I know).
I love coffee and I like a vodka, but most certainly not together!

I’ve loved curating and leading inclusive, standout events that spotlight underrepresented voices in the drinks industry.
I’ve been fortunate to partner with an amazing range of brands through and align my work with causes I care deeply about.
A recent highlight was judging in the Rémy Martin Cocktail Competition and recognising emerging talent in the industry.
As well as winning the Rising Star Award at the BIH Spotlight Awards.

I love the beverage industry because whenever you get like-minded individuals who are passionate about the same thing, there is often a lot of support that is followed.
The positive vibes I get when I go to events is really heartwarming and I’ve met some cool people on and offline that i’ve grown great working relationships with.

I respect the craft of cocktails - from the history behind each recipe to the value of quality ingredients. But cocktail culture often highlights rare, expensive spirits that aren't accessible to everyone.
As someone that grew up in a working-class background, I didn’t always have the means to build a premium bar. That lack of access sometimes made me feel excluded, even though I had the passion and skills.
I created a platform to make cocktail-making more approachable, using affordable ingredients found at local stores. My goal is to help others feel included and empowered to explore the craft.
The industry has made progress, but it still needs more diversity, equity, and accessible resources to truly support underrepresented individuals.
We need more representation at higher positions of influence not only in junior positions.

My hope is to share this creative space with everyone and inspire people to try out new recipes and come out of their comfort zone when making and trying new cocktails.
For me, cocktail making is fun and not snobby! It is a place for all, regardless of your budget or background knowledge, everyone is welcome!
I intend to continue to spread the joy of cocktail making to the masses through fun-filled events and story telling.
MY JOURNEY: FROM SCOTLAND YARD TO RESHAPING DRINK CULTURE
“I needed a creative outlet outside of the very serious environment that was my day to day”
I grew up on the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham, a place often defined by its challenges, but for me, it was the foundation of my resilience, creativity, and community-first mindset.
My early career took a different path. Working at Scotland Yard as part of a mayor-appointed team focused on rebuilding trust between the Black community and the police in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the civil unrest that followed. It was intense, necessary work that shaped my understanding of representation, purpose, and impact.
During that time, I had always juggled my full time job alongside my cocktail blog, sharing cocktail recipes and shooting drinks. I needed a creative outlet outside of the very serious environment that was my day to day.
What started as a creative escape soon grew into something much bigger, a brand, a platform and a business rooted in storytelling, cultural relevance and drinks industry expertise.
Eventually, I took the leap to run Tales & Tails UK full-time, a leap that began with many personal challenges. I channeled the same energy I once used to support systemic change into elevating underrepresented drinks brands and creating space for voices like mine in the beverage industry.
Now, as we continue to scale, I’m committed to paying it forward, sharing honest insights, helping others grow and showing what’s possible when purpose leads the way.
